Perhaps, but I'm not a fan of causing undue suffering. [The grin fades into something softer, and he tilts his head slightly.] And I can't imagine what you experienced was pleasant either.

[He doubts she was lucky enough to escape from the fray into a dreamless sleep.]

Nothing quite so painful, just... bittersweet with a struggle at the end, if I had to describe it.
